There were some 21 ecumenical councils in total that were formed over the span of 1900 years. All members nominated by the Pope, they came together to make important decisions like define the doctrine, reaffirm the truths, and show the path of the righteousness that were part of the all lives of the true Christians. Not only were decisions considered valid and approved by the Pope, but also were the ultimate path for the light to true faith.
